HW #17

I can apply what I have learned in class in many ways. For example, learning about the key vocabulary has helped me understand what cyber-bullying is and steps to prevent it. Also,  learning what is cyber-bullying and what isn’t can allow you to analyze a situation better to help fix the problem quicker.

I have witnessed cyber-bullying before and not taken any action. Now learning about about its effects, I would surely take action to prevent this in the future. I didn’t take any action then because I thought the situation was already being dealt with, so I didn’t need to help. If this ever happened again, I would help by standing up for the victim, contacting an adult or some other authority, and further try to de-escalate the situation.

It is vital to try to de-escalate a situation of where someone is being cyber-bullied because if you don’t do anything, the cyber-bullying will likely continue and the victim might become depressed or even suicidal.
